      Seit dem 8. April führt AT&T nach und nach auf Antrag das Apple iPhone. Betroffen sind davon vor allem Geräte die vor Jahren mit dem Vertrag erworben wurden. Aber auch ein "einfach so" gekauftes iPhone sollte unlocked werden.
      Beginning Sunday, April 8, we will offer qualifying customers the ability to unlock their AT&T iPhones. The only requirements are that a customer’s account must be in good standing, their device cannot be associated with a current and active term commitment on an AT&T customer account, and they need to have fulfilled their contract term, upgraded under one of our upgrade policies or paid an early termination fee


      Um den Unlock zu beantragen, soll wie folgt verfahren werden.

      1. AT&T Seite besuchen
      2. Support auswählen
      3. Rechts unten wähle Chat with an AT&T Live Agent

      4. Im geöffneten Fenster wähle "Help & Support" und unten die Option "Wireless" weiter mit "Next"

      5. Im nächsten Fenster "yes" wählen und weiter mit Next

      6. Im nächsten Fenster wähle "Tecnical support" und weiter mit Next. Wenn Chat nicht besetzt ist, wähle Chat und beschreibe das "Problem": iPhone bei Ebay gekauft und festgestellt, dass in DE nicht nutzbar. Bittet um Unlock, dafür IMEI und Mail bereit halten.

      Wenn Chat besetzt ist, dann wähle "Warranty or exchange" weiter mit Next

      Ihr könnt dann die Daten per Mail zu senden und so einen Case öffnen. Da AT&T überlastet ist, kann es dauern bis das iPhone via itunes entsperrt wird.

      drei stunden nach dem ich die mail an AT&T Service gesendet hatte, kam die Antwort ;)

      You must meet the following criteria in order to be eligible for iPhone unlocking:
       
      Account cannot have a flag for excessive off-network roaming.
      Must be an eligible AT&T iPhone. AT&T can not unlock iPhones sold by a different carrier.
      Completion of 2-year service contract (service fulfillment must be met for IMEI associated with the unlock request).
      Exceptions: Verified military deployment, paid full retail or no commitment price, early upgrade, or canceled and paid ETF.
      IPhone associated to the unlock request must not be reported lost or stolen.
       
      Additional requirements for certain customer types and scenarios:
      ·         Your account must be current and in good standing.
      ·         You can not have a past due balance on an active account or an unpaid balance or ETF on a cancelled account.
      ·         May only receive up to five unlock requests per account per 12-month period.
      ·         Must have proof of purchase for no commitment sale. Valid proof of purchase includes:
      -          Receipt from AT&T or an AT&T authorized indirect dealer/agent showing price and device information.
      -          Transfer of ownership letter (usually provided for prize winners or sales awards) from manufacturer showing specific device information.
      -          Note: Proofs of purchase should be faxed to 1-800-328-1677.

      Tja, klingt so, als ob der ursprüngliche Käufer wohl nicht ganz den Anforderungen AT&T's entsprach und sie deshalb nicht entsperren wollen. Evtl. nicht alle Rechnungen bezahlt...

      Aber das ist bloß eine standartisierte Antwort, mit den Unlock Kriterien. Ohne zusagen, dass es nicht geht. Daher würde auch ich tippen, dass AT&T einfach immernoch überlastet ist, was die Freischaltungen angeht... ;)

      Ich habe den von AT&T eine mail geschickt und habe auch eine Antwort bekommen jedoch weiß ich nicht viel damit anzufangen...

      Ich hab ein iPhone 4 mit dem BB 01.59.00 und FW 4.1 mit JB
      eigentlich sollen alle Simkarten gehen aber ich will den ungelockt haben

      hier das Original mail:

      Das Handy wurde ordnungsgemäß in einem iPhone-Shop in NYC erworben. Ich habe denen sogar die Rechnung gemailt. In d. Rechnung steht, dass das Telefon nur mit AT&T SIM funzt. Ich habe zwar eine SIM von AT&T, aber keinen Vertrag. Das Handy ist 1 Jahr alt. Aus anderen Beiträgen geht aber hervor, dass unlocked wurde, obwohl seit dem Ankauf noch keine 2 Jahre vergangen sind.

      Ich habe at&t auch mal ne Mail geschrieben und um ein Unlock meines Iphones (1G) gebeten und folgende Antwort bekommen.

      (...)I understand that you purchased a locked iPhone that you wish to have unlocked; we ask that you please provide us with proof of purchase.



      Valid proof of purchase includes:



      · Receipt from AT&T or an AT&T authorized indirect dealer/agent showing price and device information.

      Leider habe ich keinen Beleg oder soetwas. Das Iphone ist ja auch schon uralt. Hat irgend jemand einen Tipp wie ich weiter vorgehen sollte?!

      habe auch die angeschrieben und weil nach 2 Wochen immer noch nicht unlocked war, habe ich die nochmal angeschrieben und dann bekam ich folgende Email:

      Dear Customer:

      Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding your AT&T service. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. The issue has been resolved.

      Should you have any further needs regarding this issue, please do not hesitate to call us at 1 800 331-0500 and reference the tracking number shown above.

      So habs jetzt nochmal versucht es über Itunes Wiederherzustellen weil ja "Das Problem" behoben wurde ??? Und trotzdem kann ich mein iPhone nicht mit meiner o2 Karte aktivieren ... Heißt das jetzt, dass es immer noch nicht unlocked ist, oder dass ich es erst mit einer AT&T Simkarte aktivieren muss, damit ich es vollständig unlocken kann ???

      Hoffe einer kann mir helfen und dass ihr die Frage versteht xD

      Nun, sie haben bestimmte Regeln für das Freischalten:
      - Du musst ein Kunde bzw. ehemaliger Kunde von AT&T sein. Merken sie, dass du es nicht bist, verneinen sie offensichtlich die Entsperrung.
      - Der Kunde, der das Gerät gekauft hat, hat möglicherweise noch Rechnungen offen.
      - Das Gerät wurde als gestohlen gemeldet.

      Mind. einer dieser Gründe scheint bei dir zuzutreffen.
